GIAPS MISSION STATEMENT
GIAPS, the Greater Ithaca Area Paranormal Society, is a not for
profit organization based out of the Finger Lakes Region of the United States. Our organization's
mission is to take a scientific approach to examining claims of the paranormal, in and around New York and the New England
states. Our investigative team is made up of adults who not only have the desire to investigate the unexplained, but
who also wish to help individuals who are experiencing unexplained phenomenon, better understand what is happening.
GIAPS' first goal is not to prove that a site is haunted. Instead,
our goal is to use scientific methods and equipment to collect and review evidence, as well as test possible non-paranormal
theories. Our hope is that in examining ALL possibilities we can best serve the individuals, and/or the community, being
affected by the supposed paranormal activity.
GIAPS
will NEVER charge for its services. All investigations are done out of our desire to explore
claims of paranormal activity and help those seeking answers to experiences that they cannot explain.
The GIAPS team does not claim to be a able to perform rituals, religious or otherwise, to remove unwanted entities
from a location. However, we can and will refer individuals in need of such help to the appropriate individual(s) or
organization, either prior to, or immediately following an investigation. This determination will be made based on initial
interviews, secondary intakes, and/or review of evidence following an investigation.
